Way back in 2004, the movie Volta, the story revolved around an ordinary woman who was given the power of electricity and used this gift for the common good by becoming a caped-crusader donning a red suit. On January 26, the high-flying super heroine will cross over to television, bringing its original cast and some new additions. With a developed and improved storyline, the movie's TV adaptation will show the time when Perla (Ai Ai) got her "electrifying" powers to the time that she raises a family with a loving husband and two children. Direk Wenn Deramas, who also directed the film, assured that the TV adaptation will not just be a spin-off. "Dapat laging bibihisan mo ng bago ang isang bagay at panoorin mo yung ginawa mo dati para di mo na ulitin yung ginawa mo na (at) para di magsawa ang tao," explained Direk Wenn. Another fact that made the Volta film a hit was because of the original team up of reel and real-life best friends Ai Ai and Eugene, who, like her film role, plays Perla's bossom buddy. These two have already teamed up in other films and the fact that their acting compliments each other coupled with their natural flare for comedy make every movie that they make sure hits. Eugene said that she believes that one person is born to be a counterpart of another. That is how she described her relationship with Ai Ai. "The original is always the best, dahil subok na subok na. Ang comedy naman ay give and take." she said, referring to the fortified comedy tandem that she and Ai Ai have. Titled "Volta, Ina na", the TV adaptation from an old movie carries something new and something refreshing that it won't be surprising if it hits big time.
