Having a mom who makes her living reading other people’s fortunes should have been an advantage for Mia, for she can glimpse her future anytime. But like a typical parent, Jackie is very protective of her teenage daughter especially when the opposite sex is involved. As such, she refuses to divulge Mia’s destiny in love. Instead, she keeps on telling Mia that she would become an old maid someday to keep her from mooning over potential boyfriends.

However, the arrival of Jackie’s bestfriend Julie and her son Ralph in the country further alarmed her because from the first night they visited their home, she has predicted that Ralph and Mia are destined to be together forever. This caused her much panic, thinking that the only family she’s got would be taken away from her reach once they tie the knot! Despite the fact that her forecast is still long in coming, she kept the truth of her vision from Mia and Ralph. Fate has its own plans though for the two are instantly attracted with each other.

Determined to fight Mia’s destiny, Jackie told Julie and Ralph to stop seeing her daughter because she had a vision of Ralph’s death, leaving Mia miserable and alone for life for she will choose not to fall in love ever again. Ralph thinks that she’s lying but Mia totally believes her mom’s prediction. Worse, he was almost hit by a vehicle when he persisted to pursue her. But as soon as Jackie learned about the incident, she decided to reveal the truth to end the couple’s misery and false apprehensions.

Thereafter, Mia and Ralph explained that she has nothing to fear since they are both willing to wait until they are old enough to settle down. And when that happens, they assured Jackie that they would never abandon her. With that, Ralph flew back to Canada with Mia’s promise that she will wait for him as long as it takes.
