Bernard is shot and is rushed to the hospital.  Ramon, on the other hand, is about to confront Jake if he knows something about Bernard's secret mission, but Ramon hears that his godson is shot.  Meanwhile, Margarita sees from the news that Bernard is compromised and is in critical condition.

Jessica is devastated upon hearing about her brother, and she asks how Ramon could've let things go out of his hand.  Ramon justifies that Bernard was only endangered by his own curiosity, but Jessica asks him to do something about the mess.  Later, Margarita arrives in the hospital and apologizes to Jessica for not stopping Bernard.  But Jessica assures her that it was solely Bernard's decision to go on his own.

Margarita watches over Bernard in his bed and waits for him to gain consciousness.  She prays hard for his immediate recovery and thanks him for all the good things he did for her.  The next morning, Margarita is happy when Bernard wakes up, and she devotes her time in taking care of him.  Meanwhile, Ramon asks Corales to spare Bernard, but Corales is decided in eliminating the nosy young detective.  Ramon then warns Corales that if Bernard is harmed, he will take actions.  After Ramon leaves, Corales orders Morgan to kill Bernard as Corales is decided in cutting off Ramon.

As a part of their deal, Bernard asks Greta about the last kiss they had, but Greta has no clear answer.  For her, she just wants him to come back and never leave her side again.  The next day, Greta helps out in taking Bernard home so he can take a full rest.  Afterwards, Margarita reflects on her feelings for Bernard.  Although she might be starting to fall for him, she is still afraid that he will eventually leave, just like what Rodrigo did.  Didith, however, advises her that she should not let her fear stop her from being happy.

That night, Bernard visits Greta at home and finds her burning some of Rodrigo's stuff.  Greta has decided to forget her old boyfriend, and Bernard tells her that she will help her do so.  Bernard offers comfort, but across the street, Rodrigo steps out of the car and see Margarita and Bernard in a tight hug.  How will this affect Rodrigo's plans?  Will Margarita accept Bernard's love although she has not told him her true identity?  What other danger awaits Bernard?
