Janelle spends the afternoon discussing books with Troy while Gian broods in his dark room filled with picture of Monique. Janelle accidentally ventures into this unknown territory and gets a stern reprimand from the moody prince.
During the arts awarding ceremony, the emperor gets another of his dizzy spells. They decide to send the prince and the princess on behalf of the king to an important occasion in Thailand. But Prince William of England’s visit is also fast approaching. How will they take care of this? The queen mother suggests Troy to help but still they are adamant to let him handle the affair completely. Overhearing her mother’s worried talk with Ms. Choi about Janelle’s English proficiency, Gian decides to go to Thailand alone. Janelle was at first excited with the prospect of traveling outside the country but was disappointed when Gian changed the emperor’s plan. His coldness leaves Janelle baffled and it prompts her to give Gian a peace offering – a shirt for his bear Alfred.
Gian received a warm welcome in Thailand. He has avoided answering Janelle’s calls and she ended up leaving messages to Arthur. The old man reminds Gian to call her up but he tells her that he’ll do it later. Janelle gets cheered up by Troy and her friends.
Troy dreams about his last days living in the palace. He wakes up with a start and finds his mother at his bedroom door. He then reveals to Josephine his true feelings for Janelle. He’s falling in love with his cousin’s wife, the woman who was supposed to be his bride.
