After the fight is broken off, Francis apologizes to Lea, but she could no longer put up with his jealousy, and she decides to call off their relationship.  Later, she confronts Billy about his secret works, and he tells her that he is working for a syndicate.  Rita overhears their conversation and, using her work as a radio reporter, offers Billy a chance to expose his group.  But Billy fears that his bosses will kill Lea once he expose them, and he tells Rita to keep everything to herself.  It turns out, Dennis is the leader of the syndicate who Billy is working for.
