After much buzz going around the four corners of showbiz, Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo finally revealed the whole story behind their engagement. The celebrity couple trusted no one else with the juicy details but their friend and ‘ate’ Sharon Cuneta. Ryan shared to the Megastar the movie-like event on how he popped the question to Judy Ann.

The engagement happened during the birthday celebration of Juday last May 11^{th on Dumaguete. Already on the third year of their relationship, Ryan decided to propose marriage to Judy Ann with the help of their common friends, with actress Beth Tamayo assisting Ryan in finding the perfect engagement ring all the way from Hong Kong. During Juday’s birthday party, Ryan handed her a book compiling all the pictures taken from the set of Judy Ann’s movie Ploning. Juday scanned through the pages of the book up to the last part, and the drama princess almost fainted when she read the words "Will you marry me?""Para akong binuhusan ng malamig na tubig, tapos may sumunod na mainit sa ulo ko!" Judaydescribed the feeling. Ryan then knelt and showed her the ring, and the TV host-actor confessed how his heart was pounding that time in fear that his proposal might get rejected. He could no longer hear the cheer from all their friends while he waited for Juday’s answer.}

Despite getting caught unprepared, Judy Ann had no other answer in mind but ‘yes.’ The award-winning actress felt that her childhood dream of finding the man who would want to spend the rest of his life with her finally came true. The next day after the engagement, Juday called her Mommy Carol who was in Antipolo at that time to break the news. As much as Juday could not believe that Ryan proposed to her, Mommy Carol, on the other hand, was a little bit sad that her beloved daughter is going to have a family of her own soon. But all their other family and friends were all overjoyed to find out that finally, the two have agreed to tie the knot.

Sharon later broke into tears when she was asked by the engaged couple to be their matron-of-honor. The two had previously asked Sharon in London, but this time, the televiewers were witness as the Megastar took pride in accepting the invitation. But both Juday and Ryan clarified that concrete plans for their wedding have yet to be made as Ryan doesn’t want to impose anything on her fiancée.
