"It’s very painful to lose a friend like Rudy. He was very very humble and down to earth," Sen. Jinggoy Estrada says of the loss of his friend, actor Rudy Fernandez. "I saw my friend pass away and how he died. Lahat nakita ko. It was really hard for me to accept it, but it was God’s will. Nobody can question God’s will," he shares.
The senator and Rudy had been friends for decades, with Jinggoy even paying for some of Rudy’s cancer treatments. The senator says that hismost unforgettable memory of Daboy was when he and his father, former president Joseph Estrada, were sent to jail. "He was always there for us. He always visited us in the Veteran’s Hospital," he relates in a phone interview on Boy & Kris last Monday, June 9. "Pagdating ng 10 o’clock ng gabi, lagi siyang nandon. And then he would leave around two o’clock in the morning just to keep me company."
Sen. Jinggoy says he still finds it hard to believe that Daboy has passed away and that he definitely misses him. "Lahat ng nangyayari sa buhay ko, si Daboy lang ang may alam. So it’s hard for me," he end.
