But now, these former members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and New Peoples Army (NPA) are returning to the lives they once turned their backs on. Kumander Spider and the rest of his group were feared by people for they were willing to fight and kill for their principles. But when they accepted the chance to change their lives, they can now be seen working in one of the banana plantations in Maguindanao. Take a glance too, at the lives of former members of the New People’s Army in Zamboanga del Norte, who also accepted the government’s promise of a good future in exchange for their descent from the mountains.
