Alex Gonzaga is currently part of the cast of My Girl where she plays the role of Christine, best friend of Jasmine who is played by Kim Chiu. She also plays twin sister to newcomer David Chua. "It’s fun working with them. Nakapag-bond na kami before we started taping because of the workshops. Talagang nakilala namin yung isa’t isa. Dun rin pinapanuod sa amin yung original Korean version of My Girl," she recalls.

Unlike her previous roles in Let’s Go and Go Kada Go, Alex admits that My Girl was a bigger challenge in terms of getting into her role. "Talagang kinilala namin yung character namin, sobra talaga yung characterization na binigay sa amin. Tsaka kahit off-cam, pina-practice na namin yung mga roles namin," she shares.

During her days off, Alex is usually out and about. "I don’t usually stay at home kasi parang nababato ako dun. Pero ‘pag nasa bahay ako, nanunuod lang ako ng TV. I like US comedies like Friends or Will & Grace. Kahit paulit-ulit kong panuorin, kahit alam ko na yung mga mangyayari, yun lang talaga gusto ko panuorin," she admits. Alex also enjoys hanging out at malls in Ortigas and Makati with close showbiz friends like Joross Gamboa, Eda Nolan, and Diane Medina and My Girl co-stars Enchong Dee, Kim Chiu, and Gerald Anderson. "We all got closer when we did acting workshops for 13 consecutive Sundays. Kaya talagang nag-bonding kami," she explains of the latter group.

Despite their hectic schedules, Alex and her Ate Toni also try to squeeze in some bonding time by watching movies or having all-night talks. "Minsan, bigla na lang yan pupunta sa kuwarto ko tapos sasabihin niya na doon na daw ako sa kuwarto niya matulog. Tapos magugulat na lang kami na 6 am na pala, hindi pa rin kami tapos sa pag-chi-chikahan," she says. Being the same body type also means they get to share each others clothes. "Dati, nung hindi pa ako nag-aartista, talagang hiraman kami. Pero ngayon we try to lessen doing that na. Minsan, tinatago ko na yung mga damit ko kasi kuha siya ng kuha! (laughs). Wala na kasi siyang time mag-shopping at mag-isip pa ng mga imi-mix and match niya. So ako rin minsan namimili ng outfit niya," she shares.

Alex is also all excited to resume her studies as a third year Education major at the University of Asia & the Pacific. The pretty coed admits that she is lucky to be able to attend to her career and her studies at the same time, although she has to become an irregular student in her sophomore year. "The teachers are very understanding. I think they like it na maboka talaga ako sa mga teacher (laughs). Tsaka yung mga barkada ko sa school, hindi naman nila ako tinatrato na parang artista, normal lang," she concludes.
